Establish the framework needed to transform clinical education in physical therapy
Strategies: Identify graduate outcomes in preparation for the development of a standardized clinical education curriculum; Gather exemplars (best practices) of partnerships between academic and clinical institutions
Every physical therapy education program will have the movement system as one of the primary identifiable curricular threads
Strategies: Provide the leadership in the development of educational matters related to movement
Knowledge to Elevate Healthcare
Enhance educational research to inform teaching and learning
Strategies: Develop seed grants for faculty and student recruitment that would call for a plan and metrics for diversity recruitment; Create an institute of scholarship of teaching and learning; Work with the Foundation for Physical Therapy to increase support for educational research; and Investigate feasibility of developing an ACAPT journal
Academic Leadership and Advocacy
Influence CAPTE to promote best educational practices
Strategies: Identify and promote best educational practices; Mobilize institutional representatives communicate desired standard changes to CAPTE.
Develop faculty and student leaders who will lead and advocate for the physical therapy academic enterprise
Strategies: Develop collaborative leadership development opportunities that include students and other APTA sections; Develop an advocacy program within ACAPT
