NCCE Call for Candidates now open!

The Nominating Committee of the National Consortium of Clinical Educators (NCCE) is pleased to announce the call for candidates for the upcoming election in April 2018. 

 

A description of each position responsibilities is listed below for reference.

 

The deadline for candidates to express interest and to be considered for the slate is February 1,  2018

 

All members are encouraged to self-nominate or identify qualified candidates for the open offices listed below and to send the name, contact information, and the office for which the individual is recommended to Joan Drevins, NCCE Nominating Committee Chair, at jdrevins@bidmc.harvard.edu

 

All NCCE members are eligible to hold the following leadership positions.  If your institution is not yet an NCCE member but you wish to join, please use the following link to register your NCCE institutional pair.

The term of office will begin immediately following the NCCE Annual Business meeting held during the APTA Education Leadership Conference 2018.

 

Please remember that there can only be one vote per Institutional pair that will be tasked by the Academic Partner of the Institutional pair but on behalf of the collaborative Academic and Clinical team.

Elected officers will serve their respective terms or until the election of their successors yet not to exceed 6 consecutive years. Election of officers will be staggered. There is a 5th opening for Director–at-Large. That position will be awarded to the clinical or academic candidate who receives the next highest number of votes.

  

NCCE Leadership Positions and Description of Responsibilities

 

Vice Chair:

 

The Vice Chair assumes the duties of the Chairperson at the request of the Chairperson or in the absence or incapacitation of the Chairperson and oversee NCCE ad hoc committees as a voting committee member.  The Vice-Chair shall serve as the Parliamentarian during the Annual and Special meetings. The Vice-Chair shall represent the NCCE related to any program planning responsibilities for the APTA Education Leadership Conference. The Vice-Chair prepares an annual budget and coordinates funding matters with the ACAPT Treasurer.  

 

Secretary:

 

The Secretary shall be responsible for keeping the minutes of all NCCE and officer meetings; prepare and submit written reports of the activities of the NCCE to ACAPT Board of Directors: notify NCCE members of the date, time and place of NCCE meetings; maintain the NCCE’s archives and correspondence; and make NCCE’s minutes and policy and procedures available to the membership through the Consortium’s page(s) on the ACAPT website. The Secretary, in collaboration with the Chair, shall, assure currency of essential information on the ACAPT NCCE Website.

 

Nominating Committee Member:

The Nominating Committee shall consist of three (3) members. Those eligible to serve are either the Academic or Clinical partner from an institutional pair from an ACAPT member institution elected by the membership for three (3)-year terms, with one (1) member being elected each year. At least one (1) of the committee members shall be a clinical partner. The senior member of the committee shall serve as Committee Chair for the last year of his/her term. Each member shall serve for three (3) years. One new member shall be elected each year. The Nominating Committee Chair shall oversee the functions of the Nominating Committee. Prepares a ballot for offices and coordinates the nomination process; all attempts will be made to include a minimum of two candidates per office, when possible. Determines eligibility of prospective candidates. Contacts prospective candidates to obtain Consent to Serve. Requests a short biography from each candidate to be sent with Consent to Serve form. Prepare a slate of one (1) or more names for each office to be filled.  Conducts elections by electronic and mail ballot in conjunction with the Executive Office. Notifies winners of election and welcomes them. Notifies individuals not elected and maintains a record of their consent to service for future considerations and needs that may support the work of the Consortium.

 

Directors-At-Large (DAL):

 

Academic Directors at Large- The Academic Directors at Large shall represent the academic partner members  OF ACAPT  institutions. The Academic Directors at Large shall serve as an officer of NCCE to provide for broad-based input into the decision making process of the leadership team and assist with dissemination of information to the membership. They will serve as a regional liaison as assigned. They will perform such other duties as may be applicable to the office or as directed by the Board. 

 

Clinical Directors at Large- The Clinical Directors at Large shall represent the clinical partner members of  ACAPT institutions. The Clinical Directors at Large shall serve as an officer of NCCE and shall provide for broad-based input into the decision making process of the leadership team and assist with dissemination of information to the membership. They will serve as a regional liaison as assigned.  They will perform such other duties as may be applicable to the office or as directed by the Board.
