Attend The Pediatric Physical Therapy Faculty Institute

Jul 10, 2018

The 1st Pediatric Physical Therapy Faculty Institute will occur in conjunction with this year’s APTA Academy of Pediatric Physical Therapy Annual Conference (APPTAC), to be held November 9-11, 2018 in Chattanooga, Tennessee. The Pediatric Physical Therapy Faculty Institute is a one-day preconference course on November 8, 2018; its aims are to enhance teaching skills, increase confidence and breadth of teaching approaches that are consistent with the core competencies in the APPT pediatric physical therapy education consensus document, and to support CAPTE requirements for faculty development.

The Institute’s target audience is faculty members who teach pediatric content in a professional DPT program. This may be particularly important for faculty who are adjunct instructors, or who have been teaching pediatric content fewer than 5 years, but is not restricted to those  criteria. Attendance at both the Pediatric Faculty Institute preconference course and APPTAC provides a unique opportunity for enrichment of teaching strategies and pediatric content and is highly encouraged.

If you are interested in sponsoring your pediatric faculty to participate, please contact them to gauge their interest and availability to attend the November 8, 2018 Pediatric Physical Therapy Faculty Institute. Participation in the Institute and the relationships forged  will ensure that pediatric content in your curriculum aligns with the consensus document, will increase your pediatric faculty member’s understanding of how this course fits into your overall curriculum, and will boost faculty confidence, enthusiasm, and professional  networks to support their teaching.

Cost: early bird registration for the Institute and for APPTAC is now open at https://www.eventscribe.com/2018/APTA/.
