PT Day of Service - School Supplies. Changing Lives.

When:

Did you know that the Global PT Day of Service is being held this year on October 14, 2017, which also coincides with the 2017 Education Leadership Conference (ELC) ?  What better way for members of the  American Physical Therapy Association’s Education Section and American Council of Academic Physical Therapy to support PT Day of Service by making a donation for the Kids in Need Foundation.

Have you ever thought of what it’s like to go to school without the supplies you need? No backpack? No paper? No pencils? Children need these core school supplies to be successful in school.

Now, think of the burden upon parents to make sure their child has the supplies they need in addition to providing food, clothes and shoes.  It can be overwhelming especially when money is tight.

Did you know that more than 16 million kids live in poverty in the U.S. and arrive to school without the supplies they need to learn. We want to alleviate some of the burden and help 100 children be successful in the classroom. Help us level the playing field as students return to school. The backpacks filled with new school supplies provided by American Physical Therapy Association’s Education Section and American Council of Academic Physical Therapy members will be distributed directly to students in need.

Delivering new school supplies can be the start of putting students on the right educational path.

Our goal is to raise over $2,500 by  October 14th, while in Columbus at ELC. An announcement of the funds raised will be made while at ELC! You don’t have to attend the Education Leadership Conference  to donate!

For those of you attending ELC, you can donate through online contributions, or by actually bringing  backpacks, or other school supplies to ELC. We will have a drop off location at the Conference, and these supplies will be delivered to the Kids in Need Foundation. Please fill out a donation form for any product donations.
