ACAPT's Consortium of Humanities, Ethics & Professionalism (CHEP) provides a forum for discussion of the art of physical therapy and the lived experience of patients. CHEP also provides a platform for sharing resources that focus on how to teach the humanities, ethics, and professionalism in physical therapy education. Individual members of ACAPT member institutions can join CHEP for free.
This session explores key issues in educating for professionalism in physical therapy. The session will build on the 2021 Cerasoli lecture and explore historical models of professionalism. Participants will discuss how ethics and humanities may contribute to professional identity formation in a "post-professional world."
Target audience: PT educators and those who are specifically interested in professional identity growth and development.
