Training in Grantsmanship for Rehab Research

Jun 14, 2016, 01:46 AM by Jeffrey Braxton
Training In Grantsmanship for Rehabilitation Research, January 10-14, 2017:The upcoming intensive grant-writing workshop (TIGRR) builds upon the successful model used by the Enhancing Rehabilitation Research in the South (ERRIS) workshops that resulted in many junior investigators receiving NIH and other NIH level research funding.  The centerpiece of the TIGRR Workshop is the one-on-one mentorship that maximizes the chance of success. TIGRR participants are not “attendees" that pay a fee and just show up, they are mentees selected by our review committee from the many applications we receive each year, and this is what makes TIGRR so distinctive! The selected mentees will come prepared to complete at least the specific aims for a grant proposal for submission to the NIH or other funding agency.  Applications will be accepted July 1 – August 15, 2016.  Click here to learn more: http://academicdepartments.musc.edu/tigrr

Health Professions Week- September 26-30:APTA is pleased to announce its participation in the first annual Health Professions Week (HPW), which will take place on September 26-30, 2016.  HPW is an exciting week-long event for high school and college students interested in learning more about careers in the health professions. Each event will provide students with interactive opportunities to explore different professional pathways. You are encouraged to consider what type of events your program could host to support the event and promote physical therapy careers. APTA will ask you to indicate your interest and commitment to participate in late June. Contact Libby Ross, Director of Academic Services, at libbyross@apta.org, if you have questions or wish to volunteer to chat online with students about physical therapy education and careers during the HPW Virtual Fair (9/26 and 9/30). To learn more, see the HPW flyer or visit the HPW webpage.
