The Clinical Education Glossary Oversight Subgroup, with representatives from ACAPT, CESIG and PTAESIG, has established proposal and review processes to assist with ongoing maintenance and oversight of the online Clinical Education Glossary. The following information is provided to assist users in determining next steps if they wish to propose a new term or an edit to an existing term:
- Submissions for new terms or proposed edits to existing terms will be accepted March 1 to May 31 each year.
- Proposals may be made through the Clin Ed Glossary Terms Proposal Survey. A call for terms will be provided through ACAPT and APTA communications.
- Proposals will be reviewed by the Clinical Education Glossary Group which is comprised of academic and clinical representatives from ACAPT and APTA Academy of Education CESIG and PTAESIG.
- Proposed and existing terms and references will be reviewed annually by the Clinical Education Glossary Group and edits made following and approval process that includes communication with and approval by leadership of representative groups.
- Proposals should be applicable to parties vested in clinical education with potential for improving communication related to clinical education.
- The proposal survey contains the following components that will need to be completed:
- Name/contact information/professional designations for individual(s) offering the term proposal
- Term being proposed with indication of new term versus edit to existing term
- Definition
- Rationale
- A minimum of 3 references from the last 10 years (additional preferred; see rubric embedded in survey)
