In February 2021, ACAPT established the National Equity, Diversity & Inclusion Commission (NEDIC)

NEDIC is currently planning a DEI Summit to be held in June 2022.
To further support minorities and DEI, ACAPT provided $24,000 to bolster diversity in APTA's Fellowship in Education Leadership.
ACAPT continues its relationships with the American Academy of Physical Therapy (AAPT) and the National Association of Black Physical Therapy (NABPT).
The ACAPT board has routinely condemned violence against minorities and encourages all institutions to enhance diversity, increase the inclusiveness of the academic community and promote greater equity throughout their campuses.

ACAPT is committed to making a difference by listening and responding to the Black voices in our profession, educating our constituents on the complexities of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion, and supporting the work of the Diversity, Equity & Inclusion (DEI) Consortia to make the PT profession representative of those we serve.

We strongly encourage each ACAPT member institution to support at least one faculty member becoming a member of the DEI consortium.
