Greetings ACAPT Members,
2021
continues to bring us opportunities and challenges. It has been a very
busy year for ACAPT as we brought to a close our 2018-2021 strategic plan
including:
In August 2021, the ACAPT board of directors met
at Northwestern University in Chicago to begin work on a new 2021-2024
strategic plan. Through our strategic planning consultant, Paul Meyer
with Tecker International, we sought stakeholder feedback to inform the plan
as we developed a vision for the future of ACAPT. On a personal note, I
am saddened to inform folks that Paul passed away suddenly in September.
We will continue work on the plan with one of Paul’s associates and will have a
draft of the plan for the membership before the end of the year.
There has been so much
great work by our ACAPT consortia, committees. and task forces over this past
year. I am so grateful for the commitment of all of the folks who have
given of their time and talents to accomplish this work. Please click through this annual report to learn of all of the work done by these groups this past year.
I want to highlight the work of our new National
Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion Commission this year. We are so excited
for the planning of the DEI Summit to be held in June 2022. In addition, the DEI Consortium led by Dr. Senobia Crawford has been active with webinars and other activities. I encourage you to visit the ACAPT diversity resource page for other updates.
We know both 2020 & 2021 have been tough for PT academic and clinical educators. Thanks again to our unsung heroes – academic faculty, professional staff and
clinical educators – for staying the course and providing our students
excellent education.

I look forward to working
with all of you as we move into 2022!
