Building partnerships

ACAPT builds on partnership and sponsorship offerings

During 2024, ACAPT focused on building the partnerships and sponsorships available for our education and events. ACAPT was able to create and build upon unique relationships with organizations dedicated to the physical therapy profession.

As the leading influential voice for excellence in academic physical therapy, ACAPT recognizes that we need to increase the quantity and quality of academic partnerships that promote excellence.

Below are some of the groups we work closely with:

  • ACAPT is a member of National Collaborative for Improving the Clinical Learning Environment (NCICLE), a forum for organizations committed to improving the educational experience and patient care outcomes within clinical learning environments.

  • ACAPT is an active member of the Federation of Associations of Schools of the Health Professions (FASHP), whose members also include the Association of American Medical Colleges (AAMC), Association of Schools and Programs of Public Health (ASPPH), American Association of Colleges of Nursing (AACN) and American Association of Colleges of Pharmacy (AACP), American Association of Osteopathic Medicine (AOA), American Association of Colleges of Podiatric Medicine (AACPM), American Dental Education Association (ADEA), and many more.

  • ACAPT supports the Physical Therapy Leadership Institute’s (PTLI) Lynda D. Woodruff Lectures and have participated in their Disruptive Innovation Summits.

ACAPT works with PT-related organizations to deliver important updates to assist DPT programs.

The Institute for Community Engagement Vice Chair, Prisca Collins, PT, PhD, served on the FSBPT Physical Therapist & Physical Therapist Assistant Cross-Profession Minimum Data Set (PTCPMDS) Task Force to learn about purpose, scope, and intended use of the PTCPMDS to guide decision-making about the focus of the ICE task force addressing workforce shortages. The group is working on a survey for collecting data elements considered minimum necessary for health workforce planning. The term for the task force ends December 2024.

ACAPT seeks innovative relationships from vendors and organizations that promote teaching, scholarship, research and service activities within academic physical therapy.

Special thanks to ACAPT's current vendor partners:
