ACAPT continues its valuable and strong partnership with the American Physical Therapy Association (APTA) and the APTA Academy of Education, including ongoing work and an ELC session to meet the aims of the Vision of Excellence.

As the leading influential voice for excellence in academic physical therapy, ACAPT recognizes that we need to increase the quantity and quality of academic partnerships that promote excellence. Below are some of the groups we work closely with:

In 2022, ACAPT joined the National Collaborative for Improving the Clinical Learning Environment (NCICLE), a forum for organizations committed to improving the educational experience and patient care outcomes within clinical learning environments.
ACAPT is actively involved as a member of the Federation of Associations of Schools of the Health Professions (FASHP), whose members also include the Association of American Medical Colleges (AAMC), Association of Schools and Programs of Public Health (ASPPH), American Association of Colleges of Nursing (AACN) and American Association of Colleges of Pharmacy (AACP).

We’ve joined forces with all the FASHP member organizations to advocate with Congress by co-signing letters about mental health and gun control.

ACAPT supports the Physical Therapy Leadership Institute’s (PTLI) Lynda D. Woodruff Lectures and have participated in their Disruptive Innovation Summits.

Interprofessional Education Collaborative (IPEC) - ACAPT members benefit from IPEC member rates for events.
National Academy of Sciences Global Forum on Innovation in Health Professional Education. This year, ACAPT reps provided input on the needs of an aging population and artificial intelligence.

Over the past 4 years, we've also collaborated on all workshop topics, planning, structure and speakers, including:
- Non-pharmacological management of pain
- Lessons learned in health professions education during the pandemic
- Exploring a culture of fairness, respect and anti-racism through DEI in health professions education
- Educating health professions to address the social determinants of mental health

Using ACAPT funding, the Foundation is planning to expand promotion of careers in education research and education-focused scholarships.

In 2022, ACAPT hosted several webinars to increase a Doctor of Physical Therapy's (DPT) program influence & build partnerships.
