The Foundation for Physical Therapy Research (FPTR) Board of Trustees has announced that FPTR will begin accepting grant applications as projected for 2020. However, in light of the COVID-19 crisis, FPTR has elected to postpone releasing 3 grants originally planned for this year. The organization plans to award over $800,000 in research funding in 2020. Current scholarship applications submitted for 2020 are under review, and FPTR began accepting grant applications beginning April 10, 2020. Read the full announcement here.
FPTR is also offering the Physical Therapy Education Grant for the first time this year. One $40,000 research grant will be awarded to an emerging investigator for education research related to methods for promoting the uptake of research findings into education. More specifically, the purpose of this grant mechanism is to design educational interventions to address the gap between evidence and practice. This grant is generously supported by the Academy of Physical Therapy Education. More information, including guidelines and deadlines, is available on FPTR's grants page.
