The Acute Care Section and the ACS Minimum Skills Task Force are pleased to announce the adoption of the "Core Competencies of Entry-Level Acute Care Physical Therapist Practice."
This document was developed over the past 15 months through a rigorous process consisting of an assembly of an expert panel comprised of clinicians, educators and clinical specialists from various hospital environments, multiple expert reviews and comprehensive Acute Care Section member feedback sought through two webinar forums.
The document serves to provide the Acute Care Section's position on the knowledge skills and behaviors needed for entry-level physical therapist practice within the acute care environment to assist all stakeholders. This document has been posted as a resource on the Acute Care Section website. It can be accessed online at www.AcutePT.org/ResourceGuides.
