Meet ACAPT's Executive Director: Passionate Leader, Baseball Mom, and Linguistics Expert
This month, we’re shining the spotlight on our Executive Director, Celia Chomón Zamora.
When she’s not guiding the future of our association, you’ll likely find her at a ballpark, proudly being a “baseball mom” to her 11-year-old son (complete with Bogg bag, GoPro, and coffee in hand), while her husband serves as assistant coach. Her family lives for the outdoors and has a tradition of visiting one international destination, one U.S. national park, and one new MLB stadium every year.
A pair of marathoners, she and her husband share the road (and the RunDisney race routes) with their son, who runs shorter distances until he's ready to go the distance.
Beyond the marathon races, she’s a passionate foodie, recipe explorer, and themed-party hostess.
Her favorite travel destination? Kyoto, Japan. Her next big adventure? Machu Picchu and the Galápagos.
Her current nightstand read? Four Thousand Weeks by Oliver Burkeman, gifted by ACAPT's interim executive director, John Lewis, before Celia took the reins.
Her personal goal for the year? Start training for a 2027 Ironman.
Her professional goal? To help our members and staff not just succeed but thrive.
