Open Call: Bring Your Voice and Expertise to ACAPT

Sep 8, 2026

ACAPT is preparing to open applications for several volunteer positions across our committees, task forces, and other leadership groups—and we invite members to get involved.

Our volunteers are at the heart of ACAPT. They bring the perspectives, expertise, ideas, and experiences that help our organization respond to the needs of academic physical therapy and move important work forward.

Whether contributing to a task force focused on a specific challenge, helping guide the work of a committee, sharing expertise on a reactor panel, or developing new resources for the academic physical therapy community, ACAPT volunteers turn ideas into action.

Why volunteer with ACAPT?

Serving in an ACAPT volunteer role is an opportunity to contribute to work that extends beyond your own institution. Volunteers can connect and collaborate with colleagues from across the country, expand their professional networks, develop leadership skills, share innovative practices, and help influence the resources, programs, and priorities that support academic physical therapy.

Just as importantly, ACAPT needs a range of voices at the table. Different roles, institutions, career stages, backgrounds, and experiences strengthen our work and help us better understand and serve our community.

You don't have to be a longtime ACAPT volunteer to make a difference. If you have expertise to share, an issue you're passionate about, or simply a desire to become more involved, we encourage you to consider applying.

To our volunteers: Thank you

ACAPT is incredibly grateful to the members who give their time and talents to our organization.

We know that volunteering is something our members take on in addition to demanding roles as educators, clinicians, researchers, administrators, mentors, and leaders. Every meeting attended, resource developed, conversation advanced, and idea shared represents time you have chosen to invest in strengthening our profession.

That commitment makes ACAPT stronger.

Your perspective can help shape what comes next. We hope you'll raise your hand and get involved.
