Individual members working for ACAPT member institutions can join consortia - for free!
How did you first get involved with ACAPT's Education & Pedagogy Consortium (EPC) and what drew you to it?
I became involved in the consortia at its inception. Dr. Jim Farris and I had an idea of having a consortium focused on best teaching practices. ACAPT had research consortia, but nothing really about teaching and pedagogy
Why did you join the Education & Pedagogy Consortium and what is the top priority for your consortia?
I have remained with the consortia since we started. The top priority is to provide resources for faculty development related to teaching and pedagogy.
What are the top 1-3 ways your consortium members' work has been affected by COVID-19 – and how are you adapting?
My goal is to have more meetings (e.g. quarterly) via Zoom. We have primarily done work for the Educational Leadership Conference (ELC) and APTA's Combined Sections Meeting (CSM).
We recently resurrected the mentor/mentee relationship for educational research.
And to avoid working in silos, collaborative work continues with the “SIG-Sortia” that includes the Education & Pedagogy Consortium:
The SIG-Sortia continues to explore topics relevant to each group and how they can all integrate their perspectives for the benefit of PT education.
