Final numbers from PTCAS for the full application cycle saw a decline in applications in 2018, 2019, 2020, and 2022, but an increase in 2021. 

  • PTCAS saw declines in unique applicants in 2018 and 2019, but has remained relatively flat with minimal fluctuation from 2020-2022.

  • While the number of applicants has remained flat, the average number of programs to which each unique applicant is applying has fallen from 6.2 in 2017 to 5.3 in 2022.
