- Ground your tutor in an approved source and establish clear boundaries, when and how to give hints, and progress questions
- Test how the tutor responds when a learner is partially correct, asks for the answer, goes off-topic, or indicates understanding prematurely
- Decide whether your tutor is ready to use with students or needs some revision
