Education Leadership Partnership

Apr 13, 2022

As you are all aware, the memorandum of understanding that has guided the work of the Education Leadership Partnership (ELP) over the past six years ended in February. With the release in 2021 of the landmark report, A Vision for Excellence in Physical Therapy Education the original charges given to the partners under the MOU had been deemed completed.

Be assured, however, that the work toward the vision described in the report continues. The presidents and senior staff of APTA, the Academy of Education, and ACAPT met at APTA CSM and again on April 13, each reaffirming their commitment to collaboration among the three organizations and other stakeholders. The founding organizations recognize things will look different as this work moves forward. We discussed opportunities for stakeholders to share current activities toward achieving the aims of the vision, including a forum to facilitate communications and networking.

More information will be forthcoming in the months ahead as our organization leaders develop plans for continued collaboration and opportunities to involve all stakeholders in efforts to address the goals of the vision.

Best,

Roger Herr, President, APTA

Pam Levangie, President, APTA Academy of Education

Mark Reinking, President, ACAPT
