Deadline to apply for ACAPT leadership positions extended

Mar 5, 2026

The American Council of Academic Physical Therapy (ACAPT) has extended the deadline to apply for open Board and leadership positions. Members now have until March 16 to submit their applications.

Serving in a leadership role with ACAPT is an opportunity to shape the future of academic physical therapy, strengthen the profession, and contribute to initiatives that support Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) programs, faculty, and students nationwide. Volunteer leaders play a vital role in advancing ACAPT’s strategic priorities, guiding programs and initiatives, and ensuring the organization continues to respond to the evolving needs of the academic physical therapy community.

Board and leadership service also offers valuable professional development. Participants gain experience in governance, strategic decision-making, and national-level collaboration while helping to elevate the voice of academic physical therapy within the broader health care and higher education landscape.

ACAPT encourages members who are passionate about advancing academic physical therapy to consider applying. Leadership roles provide a meaningful way to contribute expertise, collaborate with colleagues from across the country, and help guide the direction of the profession.

Extending the application deadline provides additional time for interested members to reflect on how their experience and perspective can support ACAPT’s mission and the continued growth of the academic physical therapy community.

Applications must be submitted by March 16.
