Read an excerpt from Dr. MacDonald's vision:
The Fellowship in Higher Education Leadership will be instrumental in helping me achieve my goals by equipping me with the skills and insights necessary to navigate complex academic systems, develop essential leadership skills, and build high-functioning academic teams.
The mentorship and structured learning experiences will allow me to craft my leadership philosophy, gain exposure to best practices across institutions, and cultivate the confidence to pursue higher-level administrative roles. This experience will serve as both a professional accelerant and a network-building opportunity, laying a strong foundation for future contributions to ACAPT and the broader PT education landscape.
Ultimately, I believe that academic leadership in physical therapy encompasses more than administration; it involves shaping the future of the profession. Through this Fellowship, I am eager to develop into a leader who not only understands the mechanics of higher education but also inspires innovation, equity, and excellence in all aspects of academic life.
