ACAPT clinical education task forces complete their work

Sep 30, 2024

ACAPT celebrates the completion of the crucial work by the Task Force on Clinical Partner Engagement in Academic Physical Therapy, led by Laurie Neely, PT, DPT, NCS, and the Task Force on Clinical Education Placement Capacity and Process Innovation, led by Jamie L. Greco, PT, DPT, EdD. Special recognition goes to Janet Jackson-Coty, PT, DPT, for her leadership of the Placement Process Subgroup, and Janet Konecne, PT, DPT, PhD, for heading the Capacity Subgroup within the Task Force on Clinical Education Placement Capacity and Process Innovation.

ACAPT and the Clinical Education Commission are thrilled to present the outcomes of their tireless work. Their dedication has laid the groundwork for meaningful conversations and exciting innovations in clinical education. We’re eager to embark on the next phase of collaboration with the clinical education and broader academic physical therapy communities. We are confident that these efforts will spark progress and inspire continued growth. Below you will find reports on each task force's findings:

We invite the CE Community to celebrate these accomplishments and participate in upcoming events that will dive deeper into the outcomes and recommendations from these Task Forces:

  • CE Commission Annual Meeting: Saturday, October 19th, 2024 from 8:00-9:30 AM at ELC in Oakland, CA. Join us for an opportunity to hear initial discussions on the innovations sparked by the Task Forces' work.
  • Listening Session: Wednesday, December 4, 2024, at 6:30 - 8:00 pm EST, offering an opportunity into the Task Forces' recommendations and providing a platform to discuss initiatives that the ACAPT CE Commission is initiating based on the Task Forces' findings. This session will also include an interactive Q&A with Task Force leadership, allowing for further engagement and discussion.

We are excited about the future of clinical education and the conversations and developments that will come from this groundbreaking work. We look forward to seeing you at these events and continuing the important work of advancing clinical education.
