ACAPT is pleased to announce a Call for Proposals for a Full-Day Pre-Conference Session at the 2026 Education Leadership Conference (ELC), October 16th-18th in Washington D.C.
Pre-conference sessions offer in-depth learning and skill development on topics highly relevant to physical therapy education. These sessions are designed to provide interactive, application-focused experiences that equip participants with practical strategies, tools, and insights they can apply in their programs and institutions.
We invite proposals that address timely issues in physical therapy education and align with ACAPT’s strategic priorities. Proposals will demonstrate clear relevance to the needs of physical therapy education and include opportunities for participant engagement, discussion, and practical application.
Session Format
• Full-day session delivered on Thursday, October 15th, 2026, from 8am-5pm
• Designed for active learning and participant engagement
• May include workshops, facilitated discussions, hands-on activities, or collaborative problem-solving
Proposal Components
Proposals should include:
- Session title
- Background and description of the session and its intended audience
- Instructional methods and learning objectives
- Agenda outlining the full day
- References, impact, and significance of the topic
Proposals should also describe how the session aligns with ACAPT’s Strategic Plan.
Submission Deadline: April 10, 2026
Proposals will be blind reviewed by a panel of reviewers using established evaluation criteria. The selected session will be notified following the review process (mid-May).

We encourage submissions from individuals and teams representing a variety of perspectives, institutions, and areas of expertise across academic physical therapy.
Presenter Expectations
Individuals submitting proposals should plan to attend the Education Leadership Conference regardless of proposal acceptance.
