Consent to Serve

I affirm my willingness to serve, if appointed, in the position above on the American Council of Academic Physical Therapy’s work group. I understand that ACAPT is a 501(c)6 non-profit business entity and that if appointed, I will be expected to uphold the duties of care, loyalty, and obedience of this position.

Officers, directors, and other leaders must act in a manner which they believe to be in the best interests of the association, and with such care, including reasonable inquiry, as an ordinarily prudent person in a like position would use under similar circumstances.

Duty of Loyalty:
This is a duty of faithfulness to the organization. This means that volunteers must give undivided allegiance to the organization when making decisions affecting the organization. In other words, volunteers cannot put personal interests above the interests of the organization.
