ACAPT Alternate representative to the National Academies of Science, Engineering and Medicine Global Forum on Innovation in Health Professions Education

We are inviting applications for the alternate representative for the Global Forum on Innovation in Health Professions Education.
Responsibilities/Qualifications: This position requires an experienced academician who desires to promote, achieve, and sustain excellence in health professional education including continuing professional development. This individual will represent ACAPT’s core values to other member organizations participating in the Forum activities and demonstrate the desire to advance excellence in health care by fostering collaboration and advocating policies in the best interest of individuals and communities. Experience in association governance, interprofessional collaboration, and higher education and health policy would be helpful.
Time Commitment: It is expected that the ACAPT Representative will attend two 1-day planning meetings as well as two 1 ½-day workshops/year that are held at the Keck Building in Washington, DC. One planning meeting/workshop is held in the Fall (October or November) and one in the spring (April) and typically scheduled from 10 am the first day, finishing noon on the last day. The upcoming planning meeting and workshop dates are from Nov 13-15 (strategic planning meeting and workshop on Social Determinants of Mental Health). If possible, the incoming alternate representative would have the option of attending the meeting and workshop. The workshops are free and open to the public and are also webcast but registration is required. Following each meeting/workshop, the alternate will assist the representative in the development of summary report that is shared with the ACAPT Board.
