As articulated in our strategic plan, ACAPT is committed to equipping institutions with resources that facilitate growth in diversity, equity, and inclusion within the academic physical therapy workforce and student population. In line with this commitment, we actively support initiatives that promote justice, diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging in the field of physical therapy.
Our ACAPT National Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion Commission (NEDIC) has four active task forces dedicated to developing strategies for PT programs to address the systems and structures that produce inequities and inequalities.
While the full implications of the recent U.S. Supreme Court decision on affirmative action in higher education are yet to be determined, ACAPT remains steadfast in our efforts to cultivate a more diverse PT profession and to address pervasive health inequities, consistent with the law.
