To our physical therapy clinical education partners,
These extraordinarily challenging times have reminded us of the many unsung heroes that keep our world moving forward. Among them are people like you.
For nearly two years now, we know you have tirelessly advocated for adapting policies, championed for student access in the clinic, adapted pre-covid experiences to fit the current environment, took additional measures to ensure a safe and positive clinical experience, and reappropriated equipment and spaces for students.
Now, the current surge is bringing an additional burden that is almost too much to bear. We know you are stressed, exhausted, and perhaps even a little dispirited. While we cannot lessen these burdens, we can say this:
We see the results of your work and you make such an incredibly, positive difference.
We thank you for the extraordinary, unselfish work you do every day.
Finally, we want to ensure you feel supported by ACAPT and that you know where to find information to help in your professional development, engagement with others, and a place to just share challenges, solutions, or simply to commiserate. We encourage you to
Each of you are critical to the academic physical therapy enterprise. Please connect with us, join us, and share. Together we will not only survive this current challenge, we will create innovative solutions to transform clinical education in academic physical therapy.
With gratitude,
The ACAPT Board of Directors and our National Consortium of Clinical Educators
