Simulation Instructor Training for Rehabilitation Professionals (SITReP)
When:
Columbus, OH
The Simulation Instructor Training for Rehabilitation Professionals program is a hybrid course designed to prepare rehabilitation professional educators to develop and deliver simulation-based learning experiences following standards of best practice.
Participants will complete interactive online learning modules designed to gain knowledge about simulation education, design, and best practices in developing simulation scenarios through both synchronous and asynchronous sessions. The course will then convene in person for two days at The Ohio State University Clinical Skills Education and Assessment Center to apply principles through experiential learning, including pre-briefing, facilitation and debriefing.

Testimonials
“This course was well-designed and met my needs as a more experienced participant who has done simulation for a while. From this course, I can design better pre-briefs and debriefs. It is unlike anything I have seen available for our profession. I truly feel SITReP elevates our ability as rehab professionals to implement simulation with the best available evidence and practice.” - Erin Thomas, PT, DPT, FNAP
“I have a much better understanding of the pedagogical theory and rationale on how to use simulation. It’s not just playing with fun toys or actors in a simulation center but rather an approach that is catered to specific objectives. The in-person modules were incredibly fruitful. Hearing others’ perspectives was invaluable.” - Kristen Waller, PT, DPT
“The instructors created a great space for learning where participants were comfortable participating, asking questions and making mistakes. This course really illustrated how if simulation is done correctly, it can greatly impact students’ learning. I look forward to being more involved with simulation at my institution in the upcoming year.” - Kristen Morse, PT, DPT
