The ACAPT Leadership Academy (ALA) is seeking new volunteers for the following open positions. ALA strives to develop just-in-time, cost-effective, extensive leadership resources for all ACAPT stakeholders.
ALA's oversight committee's purpose includes:
- Oversee the work of the ALA subcommittees - Resource Development, Leadership Summit Planning, Student Leadership Development, Leadership Development Content.
- Create and maintain a leadership development resource (Leadership Compass) for members of the physical therapy academy - including faculty, students, administrators, clinical instructors.
- Create and execute a leadership development strategic plan, providing leadership development training that is accessible and affordable for stakeholders.
- Identify needs and strategies related to leadership development.

ACAPT Leadership Academy Oversight Commitee
Position Sought: Chair of ALA oversight committee
Reports to: ACAPT Board of Directors
Role:
- Organize and lead meetings.
- Report to ACAPT board regularly.
- Manage ALA budget.
- Collaborate with ACAPT staff to plan leadership development training.
- Provide vision and leadership for ALA.
Qualifications:
- Interest in and commitment to leadership development
- Faculty, program director, senior administrator in an ACAPT member institution
- Graduate of a leadership development program (preferred)
Length of Term: 3 years (October 2020-October 2023)

ALA Leadership Summit Subcommittee
Position Sought: 1 Member of ALA's Leadership Summit Subcommittee
The Leadership Summit Subcommittee will:
Develop and coordinate the delivery of predictable programming for ELC for the 3 leadership levels. Levels: Level 1: Self-Development; leading self; Level 2: Leading and Influencing Others; Level 3: Mentoring others.
Reports to: The ACAPT Leadership Academy (ALA) Oversight Committee
Qualifications:
- Experience on ACAPT or component programming committee or
- Graduate of a leadership development program (preferred)
- Ability to recruit speakers and evaluate speaker credentials
- Contacts with leaders inside and outside physical therapy education
- Recognized as a provider of leadership development programming
- Associated with an ACAPT member institution
Length of Term: 3 years (October 2020 - October 2023)

ALA Resource Development Subcommittee
Position Sought: 3 Members of ALA's Resource Development Subcommittee
The Resource Development Subcommittee will:
- Identify available leadership resources for the Leadership Academy’s Compass Self-Development Tool, including but not limited to, websites, publications, people, workshops, and programs.
- Identify a source, fee, and usefulness rating for each resource that can be shared with stakeholders.
- Perform ongoing review and monitoring of resources and update as needed.
Reports to: The ACAPT Leadership Academy (ALA) Oversight Committee
Qualifications:
- Graduate of a leadership development program
- Recommend geographic, generational, institutional (Carnegie classification) diversity
- Affiliated with an ACAPT member institution
Length of Term: 2 years (October 2020-October 2022)

ALA Leadership Development Content Subcommittee
Position Sought: 5 Members of ALA's Leadership Development Content Subcommittee
The Leadership Development Content Subcommittee will:
- Implement the ACAPT Leadership Academy (ALA) Leadership Development Strategic Plan.
- Identify speakers, determine delivery modes, and a timeline for content delivery.
- Collaborate with ACAPT, APTA and its components, and external organizations to create and deliver content in the ALA Leadership Development Strategic Plan.
Reports to: The ACAPT Leadership Academy (ALA) Oversight Committee
Qualifications:
- Graduate of a leadership development program preferred
- Recommend geographic, generational, institutional (Carnegie classification) diversity
- Affiliated with an ACAPT member institution
